R. H. Olson Member of Excellence Award

Established in 2014, the R.H. Olson Member of Excellence Award is presented annually at the Spirit of St. Louis Region - CCCA Annual Meeting. This award honors those members who are dedicated to the antique and Classic automobile hobby. Each member who is honored with this award has shown great interest, passion, leadership and generosity in all areas of the antique and Classic automobile hobby by participation which may include, but not be limited to, Tours, CARavans, Open Houses, Car Shows, Board of Directors seats, other leadership positions in the hobby, and continuing education and awareness of the antique and Classic automobile.  

Each member who is honored must be a member of the Classic Car Club of America as well as a member of the Spirit of St. Louis Region of the Classic Car Club of America. However, criteria for those considered for this award will be based on their participation in the antique and Classic automobile hobby as a whole, including their level of participation in other antique and Classic automobile clubs in the United States of America, especially in and around the surrounding areas of St. Louis, MO.  Ownership of a Classic Car is not mandatory for consideration for the award.  Each member honored will be in possession of the award for one year and will pass the award on to the next honored member at the Spirit of St. Louis Region of the Classic Car Club of America Annual Meeting.  A descendant of Richard H. Olson will be present to award the honoree.

Participation Awards

The Participation Award was established in 1998 to recognize those individuals in the Spirit of St. Louis Region who exhibit a high level of participation in both Regional and National CCCA events during our calendar year of activities.  The award(s) is/are presented at the Spirit of St. Louis Region's Annual Meeting in November of each year.

Director's Award

Conceived in 2015 as the John Porbeck Driving Award, and renamed in 2017 as the Director's Award, it was placed in competition in memory of the late Spirit Region member John Porbeck who was passionate about driving his Classic Cars.  It is awarded each year to the member who best exemplifies the spirit of Classic driving that is the legacy of John Porbeck.  The award is presented at the Spirit of St. Louis Region's Annual Meeting in November of each year.

National CCCA Awards

The Spirit of St. Louis Region has received Special Achievement Awards from the National CCCA in several categories.

Chuck Conrad Website Award, 2nd Place -2017

Regional Membership Award, 1st Place - 2017

The Tarnopol Award, 3rd Place - 2015
Also awarded to SSR in 2008

Awarded annually at the National Annual Meeting to the Region which had the most participation in the CARavans of the previous year.

Technical Service Award, 3rd Place - 2015
Also awarded to SSR in 2004, 2009 and 2010

Presented annually at the National Annual Meeting to Regions that made the most superior contribution to the technical aspect of restoring and maintaining Classic automobiles.

Judges & Tabulators Participation Award, 1st Place - 2013

Presented annually at the National Annual Meeting to recognize Regions with the most superior support of judging and tabulating.
